NIGERIA Vs FRANCAFRICA

Our great Flying Eagles,
Representing Africa on the pitch of Columbia
Fighting for the Semi- Final ticket,
Nigeria versus Francafrica.

The great players of France,
Denominated by offspring of  African blood,
I know Yoruba name is Ligali,
I understand Coullibaly sounds African.

This great match I just watched
is just Nigeria versus Francafrica,
Therefore by logical conclusion,
African seeds versus Flying Eagles.

I then remembered my History lessons
Of British Indirect Rule and France Assimilation policy,
The seed of integration of centuries past,
Reaping the benefits of wonderful blessings for France.

Gallant Flying Eagles of Hope,
Welcome home and rest your legs.
You have proved to be worthy ambassadors,
You carried African flag with dignity.

What lesson did I learnt from French Team?
It is a lesson that the best is chosen
Not minding the colour of their skins,
Whether black or white, ability to perform is the thing.

More lessons we can learn as a nation
That our diversity is a blessing of heavens,
In unity and diversity lies our strength
We need to support our strength in diversity.

French forefathers encourage integration
of African diversity as a national policy,
Let us make use of our own diversities
to lift Nigeria up among the comity of nations.

Welcome home our gallant heroes
We Salute your determination and courage
Flying Eagles of future hope
You have made your mark on the soil of Columbia.
