MERRY CHRISTMAS

It is the season of Christmas, when we celeberate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Happy festive Seasons to all my friends and readers over there. It is well with you all.

In line with the festive period's tone, I remembered a Christmas Carol programme I attended long ago. I really enjoyed the songs to the extent that during the interlude I wrote some lines to commemorate the occasion. The title is - I Heard A Big Song.

I HEARD A BIG SONG

So eulogising, So adoring,
So praise-worthying,So admonishing,
So stimulating, So encouraging,
So emulating,So scintillating,
So captivating, So impressing,
So entertaining, So sensible,
So invoking,So evoking,
So beautifully composed,
So wonderfully rendered,
So miraculously sung.

This Christmas sonorous songs,
Rendered by the special squad,
The Christian angelic praise singers,
So beautifully stressed in tones
Of musical instruments of great capacities!
Oh! if you want to feel the extent of this feeling,
Visualize King David playing on his lyre before Saul,
Imagine him singing Psalm 107
Fast Forward to King Solomon the Wise,
In his royal palace with special choristers.

Merry Christmas to all that witnessed this,
Merry Christmas to all my folks here,
Merry Christmas to the singers and the audience,
Merry Christmas to the readers and the followers,
Merry Christmas to my friends and foes
It is the Season of Love and Bliss
It is the Time of being a brother's keeper,
It is the Period of the Lord's birth,
Join me to say it very heartily.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AGAIN AND AGAIN.

PREPPING THE NECK FOR GOLGOTHA

Here they come,
The fiendish friends
In chameleon clothes,
With deceitful heart
And sinister minds,
Prepping their victims for Golgotha.

Golgotha! Golgotha! Golgotha!
In your compound lays millions of sculls,
The guilty and the non-guilty,
The hopeful and the hopeless heads,
Golgotha, the camp of slayer
And the agent of death.

Prep me not for the Golgotha,
For I am not of your kind,
I am fully aware of my mind,
The desire I have is not of your abode,
I have a covenant with the agent of light,
I have an understanding with the Prince of Peace.

Worry Has A Family. Are You Related?

There was a time I worry a lot. I worry about my life, about my future, about my home, my school, my exams, my safety, my aspirations, my job, my targets, my success and the likes. I  almost lost myself in the dungeon of worry. Worry is the Cousin of Fear and the elder brother of Anxiety. They are all the same family with a strong bond among them. The three family members are the harbinger of illness, depression, sickness, and their grandfather is death.

Worry never fixes anything. No wonder Shakespeare wrote that 'Our doubts are traitors, and they make us lose what we oft might win, by fearing to attempt'.

We need to defeat the spirit of fear and worry if we want to live a life of ease. No wonder Master Jesus charged us never to worry about anything. Even the meal for the following day, but we do disregard the Lord's admonition and worry ourselves almost to the point of death. Our God is a father to all. We must not fear. The Psalmist says ' The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Another verse says ' In God I trust;I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me? Another wonderful assurance given to us in the sacred book says 'Let him (God) have all your worries and cares for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you'.

As we continue our journey in this world, we must make efforts to be watchful, careful but reject worry, unnecessary anxieties and reject fear in all facets of our life.

Have No Fear

What is FEAR? Fear has been described as ''Fake Expectation Appearing Real''. Fear wants you to run from something that is not after you. Evangelist Billy Sunday aptly described fear thus: ' Fear knocked at my door. Faith answered.....and there was no one there'.

You don't nurse fear. If you do, it grows bigger.Hear again what Benjamin Disraeli said, 'Nothing in life is more remarkable than the unnecessary anxiety which we endure, and generally create ourselves'.

Worry, Fear, Anxiety are all bedfellows of the same family. They do not help tomorrow's troubles and they do ruin today's happiness.

Decide to defy fear from today.Let God have all your worries and cares. He is always thinking of His creatures. God watches over me and you. Just trust Him.

NIGERIA Vs FRANCAFRICA

Our great Flying Eagles,
Representing Africa on the pitch of Columbia
Fighting for the Semi- Final ticket,
Nigeria versus Francafrica.

The great players of France,
Denominated by offspring of  African blood,
I know Yoruba name is Ligali,
I understand Coullibaly sounds African.

This great match I just watched
is just Nigeria versus Francafrica,
Therefore by logical conclusion,
African seeds versus Flying Eagles.

I then remembered my History lessons
Of British Indirect Rule and France Assimilation policy,
The seed of integration of centuries past,
Reaping the benefits of wonderful blessings for France.

Gallant Flying Eagles of Hope,
Welcome home and rest your legs.
You have proved to be worthy ambassadors,
You carried African flag with dignity.

What lesson did I learnt from French Team?
It is a lesson that the best is chosen
Not minding the colour of their skins,
Whether black or white, ability to perform is the thing.

More lessons we can learn as a nation
That our diversity is a blessing of heavens,
In unity and diversity lies our strength
We need to support our strength in diversity.

French forefathers encourage integration
of African diversity as a national policy,
Let us make use of our own diversities
to lift Nigeria up among the comity of nations.

Welcome home our gallant heroes
We Salute your determination and courage
Flying Eagles of future hope
You have made your mark on the soil of Columbia.
